Set of 4 Vintage Walnut Cane Back Dining Chairs | French Country Cane Chairs | Upholstered Dining Chairs
Beautiful set of four vintage walnut dining chairs featuring tall, sculptural cane backs, gracefully shaped wood frames, and upholstered seats.
Dating to approximately the 1970s–1980s, these chairs combine traditional craftsmanship with a relaxed, collected look that works beautifully in both classic and contemporary interiors. Each chair features a tall cane inset back framed by warm walnut-toned wood, a gently shaped crest, and slender turned front legs.
The natural cane provides beautiful texture and contrast against the rich wood, while the generously upholstered seats make the chairs comfortable for everyday dining. The existing upholstery features a traditional scrolling botanical pattern in muted shades of cream, green, burgundy and tan.
These would be particularly beautiful around a walnut dining table or styled in a French country, English country, coastal traditional, Grandmillennial, European-inspired or transitional interior. They would also make an excellent upholstery project—the seats could easily be updated in an ivory linen, ticking stripe, block print or other designer fabric for an entirely different look.
