Vintage Chinoiserie Folding Screen

A striking vintage four-panel chinoiserie screen featuring a richly detailed garden scene on a luminous gold-toned background. Birds perch among leafy branches, flowering plants, bamboo, and sculptural rocks, framed by black borders with scrolling gold-toned decoration.

The reverse offers a second decorative view, with graceful bamboo, birds, and a rocky landscape against a black lacquered finish. Muted greens, dusty rose, burgundy, and warm gold give the screen a beautiful, layered palette.

Use it to define a seating area, create a dressing corner, or add height and pattern behind a console. Its decorated reverse makes it especially appealing where both sides will be visible.

CONDITION — PLEASE READ

Vintage condition with visible wear throughout. There are scratches, scuffs, finish losses, and chips along the edges, corners, and feet. Several upper corners have chipped areas exposing the underlying material. One outer foot has a particularly noticeable area of finish loss, and the metal foot caps show tarnishing and discoloration. Additional finish loss is visible near a lower hinge on the reverse.

Please review the full photographs and close-ups carefully. This piece is offered in its current vintage condition, with the wear forming part of its appearance.
